Dr. Maria received her first degree, a BS in Biochemistry, from Gettysburg College in 1991. From there she moved on to Purdue University, where she earned both her MS (’93) and DVM (’97). Prior to moving to Tennessee, Dr. Maria moved around the country gaining valuable veterinary experience. Dr. Maria has been with Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital since December of 2007. Her veterinary interests include exotic animal medicine, nutrition, and surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Marc Filigenzi, and their three children; Anthony (11), Sofia (9), and Luca (9). Her furry family members include: 2 Schnauzers (Rosie and Nero), 2 horses (Joe and Skye), and one rabbit (Charlie). Additionally, they have quite a collection of ducks and chickens. Maria enjoys being an active member of her church, and would like to enjoy yoga and horseback riding, if there were more hours in the day.
