Raptor Rehabilitation Oak Ridge, TN

Raptor Rehabilitation

In addition to taking care of your pets, ORVH has tried to provide services that are beneficial to the community and to the environment. Since 2001 we have had a relationship with the Clinch River Raptor Center, an organization devoted to rehabilitation and return of injured raptors to the wild. Dr. Rick Hinson, who has had an interest in birds, reptiles and small mammals even before he was trained at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, has been treating these birds, repairing fractures, treating infections and other injuries in an attempt to return them to the wild. Some of these birds that can not be completely mended will be kept for teaching purposes, but the ultimate goal is to restore their health so they can exist in the wild as they were meant to.
