“Buffy is our 9 year old Shih tzu/Pekanese and is a significant member of our family. Recently, she became seriously ill with a blood clot in her lung. Having a bad heart valve from birth or an early age added to the crisis. We initially took Buffy to our local vet where she is groomed and after the second visit, they sent her home with what they called a “stomach problem”. She almost died that night! The next day we brought her to Oak Ridge Veterinary Hospital where she was rushed into triage and evaluated. The doctors and technicians were very concerned and compassionate. Buffy needed an IV to aid in hydration. In order to keep a close eye on her, one of the technicians took her home for several nights. Also, one of the doctors visited Buffy at the technician’s house to help with her IV therapy. After a week of very personalized care by the Oak Ridge Vet Hospital Staff, we were able to bring Buffy home. She is still weak and very frail but slowly recovering. We have daily contact by the Oak Ridge folks.
These fine professional saved Buffy’s life and we won’t soon forget it.”
